The Food Safety and Nutrition Education program in Clark County provides research based food safety and nutrition information to consumers. Washington State University Extension Food Safety and Nutrition programs help families make food and physical activity choices that promote health and prevent disease.
Food Safety and Nutrition Hotline
An educator or a trained volunteer can answer your questions about food safety, food preservation or basic nutrition issues Monday through Friday 9am – 4pm, at 360-397-6060 ext 5366 June – October.

WSU Extension, in partnership with the Clark County Health Department, provides food safety training for food service employees beyond the basic heath card testing. WSU Extension offers a Person In Charge training and the ServSafe Certification Course.

Master Food Preservers – Volunteer Program
Master Food Preserver volunteers receive 40 hours of intensive training and then volunteer to answer consumer questions about food preservation and general food safety, hold classes about food preservation, and test pressure gauges during the summer season. Nutrition Education Programs
Families with limited resources receive nutrition education though the Food $ense Program to children in school classrooms, after school programs, parent education through schools, WIC, and community and senior centers.
Diabetes classes teach people with diabetes or pre-diabetes how to manage their health through healthy food choices and exercise.
